High resolution spectrum analyzer with LBWS
Ability to control activity on the VFO-A band. The RF bandwidth feature allows you to view activity within a range of 25 kHz, 50 kHz, 100 kHz, 250 kHz, 500 kHz, l MHz or 2.5 MHz. The 2SC4536 (NE46134) in the series design of the amplifier, allows to obtain a low distortion and noise RF amplifier, which allows the receiver to operate to the best of its capabilities in the most adverse operating conditions. The new IPO system allows you to select from the front panel between four RF gain configuration conditions. Select IPO1 to feed a signal level to the mixer that guarantees the best possible IP performance. Select IPO2 to eliminate RF amplification.
Double Quad Double Balanced mixer - Optimal performance for the most demanding amateur radio operators
Eight MOSFET 3SK294 Dual Gate MOS devices are used for the 1st mixer in a 2 x 4 configuration to obtain the Double Quad Double Balanced mixer. The Double Balanced mixers that use FET devices have low losses per se, for which it is not necessary to obtain a gain higher than that required by the RF amplifier, it follows the best possible design for the RF input stage.
The extraordinary 400 MHz HRDDS system for the high quality local oscillator
To try to improve the strong signal handling capabilities of the receiver section, it is essential to have a very low noise local oscillator system that produces an extremely clean first-average frequency signal. The high C / N ratio of the 400MHz High Resolution Direct Digital Synthesizer (HRDDS) system, already used on the FT DX 9000 series, has also been adopted on the FTDX5000 Series.
New type of wide-range OCXO reference oscillator
The 10 MHz OCXO (Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator), with a frequency stability at the top of the category, evaluated in the order of ± 0.05 ppm over a temperature range between -10 ° C and + 60 ° C serves from main reference oscillator for the FTDX5000MP.
Variable RF filter (VRF) - For frequencies from 1.8 to 28 MHz
To ensure the protection of the RF stages, and of the two MF stages, the input stage filtering system uses a combination of 15 fixed bandpass filters and the unique Yaesu VRF preselector system. These two RF filter systems protect the earliest stages of the receiver from overload caused by strong out-of-band signals. The high QF VRF system has a decidedly lower bandwidth than fixed passband filters and is made with high permeability toroidal windings that produce 62 tuning steps for optimal suppression of transmission interference or commercial services.

IF WIDTH / IF SHIFT interference attenuation systems famous all over the world
The IF Shift system allows the effective bandwidth to be shifted to a higher or lower frequency, eliminating the interference that is encountered outside the bandwidth, but at the same time leaving the pitch of the input signal and the width of the bandwidth unchanged MF. The reception can also be improved by choosing to restrict the bandwidth of the IF WIDTH function and then varying the bandwidth through IF SHIFT.
CONTOUR control of bandwidth response with analogue touch

The FTDX5000MP Limited uses VRF150 push-pull MOS FET devices (VDSS = 170 V, VGS = ± 40 V, PD = 300 W), operating at 50 V, with adjustable bias control from the customer to ensure optimal suppression of effects of intermodular distortion.
Class A final amplifier, low distortion, avant-garde
The FTDX5000MP Limited allows operation in a "Class A" mode with a 75-watt output, exploiting the high bias current to generate very low transmitter intermodulation products, and the 5th order or higher IMD is usually suppressed at 65 dB or even lower values!
Optional fully automatic external μ-tuning tuning with 28 mm winding
At the lower bands of radio amateurs, the high signal voltages on a receiver can create noise and intermodulation effects that can cover the weaker signals you are trying to receive. Now there are three optional tuning modules (MTU-160, MTU-80/40 and MTU-30/20) covering all the amateur bands from 160 meters to 20 meters!
